Yoobee's Christchurch campus officially open!

The Hon Steven Joyce officially opened Yoobee School of Design’s new Christchurch campus on Thursday 23 January. The campus is based on the University of Canterbury’s Dovedale Ave site and is Yoobee’s first permanent home since the 2011 earthquake.

The event was also attended by Hon. Lianne Dalziel, Mayor of Christchurch, Peter Townsend, Chief Executive of the Canterbury Employers’ Chamber of Commerce, Rod Carr, Vice Chancellor, University of Canterbury, Professor Zhang, Director of Animation Laboratory, Beijing Film Academy and many other people from the creative and education industries in Christchurch. Three classes started on the campus on 7 January, and four new classes are due to start in February. Ruth Cooper CEO Yoobee says, “After so many moves during the last three years, the new campus is a fantastic outcome for the Christchurch team. Our February classes are filling fast and we are very excited about the new Diploma in Game Art starting in August. The collaboration with UC gives Yoobee students the opportunity to be part of the biggest tertiary institution in the South Island.
