Game Art Tutor Hits the Bigtime with Subway Game

The upcoming IGF (Independent Games Festival) Awards signal exciting times ahead for ACG Yoobee game art tutor Jamie Churchman. Jamie and his team at Dinosaur Polo Club have been nominated for multiple awards for their game Mini Metro, including Excellence in Design, Excellence in Visual Art, Excellence in Audio and the Seumas McNally Grand Prize.

Mini Metro – a strategy simulation game about designing efficient subway networks - has also received an honourable mention for Best Debut for the Game Developers Choice Awards, the premier accolades for peer recognition in the global digital games industry.

Both the IGF Awards and the Game Developers Choice Awards will be livestreamed on Twitch on March 16: http://www.twitch.tv/gdca

Jamie tutors part-time at Yoobee and was instrumental in co-writing the two-year Level 7 Diploma in Game Art with Head of Faculty for Game Art, Taylor Carrasco.

“This is an incredible achievement for an ACG Yoobee tutor, and a massive achievement for New Zealand’s game industry,” said Taylor.
