Behance Portfolio Review nights are epic events on the ACG Yoobee calendar. They’re held twice a year and offer a brilliant platform for students and recent graduates to showcase their work, and see how they stack up against the pros.
All three ACG Yoobee campuses held their mid-year Behance Portfolio Reviews last week, and the work that was exhibited was phenomenal.
In Auckland, 50 students and recent graduates across the entire spectrum of courses showed their work to a judging panel of specialised industry professionals. Work was inspired - and inspiring – and Behance coins were awarded to Graphic Design student Alisa Asami and Digital Media Advanced graduates Laura Scott, Fiona Regan and Ripul Bhopal.
Head of Faculty for Graphic Design/Web Jason Hyland said Behance Portfolio Reviews have big benefits for students.
“They gain professional feedback on their work in a dynamic, vibrant environment. The event also gives them a valuable chance to network, hear feedback on other creatives’ work, and possibly pick up some great prizes,” says Jason.
Meanwhile further South at ACG Yoobee Wellington the event was attended by industry heavy weights including the Creative Lead from Powershop and several designers from The Big Picture. Fraser Callaway from Strategy Design and Phyo Thu from Fox&Co Design were guest speakers and ACG Yoobee student Aitken Hawkins won a one-year subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud.
The talents of our South Island students didn’t go unnoticed either. At ACG Yoobee in Christchurch coins were awarded to Vincent Zhang, Uros Sustersic and Johnny Drummond; the CC Adobe Subscription Award was won byLauren Hinman and Daniel Humpage took out the Book Award.
