Got digital design in your DNA? iCreate explores the high-octane world of digital media, and is the perfect course to unlock your imagination, enhance your skills and prepare you for further study. This is where your creativity and digital technology collide – and multiply!

Using digital still and video cameras and computers, you’ll produce a wide range of original art that combines traditional and digital media. You’ll also learn digital illustration techniques and how to create images and pages suitable for web publication, how to capture and edit video, and how to create and animate 2D and 3D objects. This work is complemented by a wide range of art and creative practices to further enhance your skills base and prepare you for further study.

Diploma in Digital Design – Animation and Film Production

40 weeks NZQA Level 5

This brand-new programme replaces the Diploma in Animation & Digital Video (Level 5).

You’ve got a vast imagination. You love film and TV. If you just had the tools and knowledge, who knows what incredible work you could do?

After completing this freshly-revamped qualification, you’ll have a foot in the door of the amazing world of animation and film. You’ll produce a portfolio of work that will become your ticket to higher-level study or an entry-level industry job. Diploma in Screen Production

40 Weeks NZQA Level 6

If you’ve always wanted to create visual effects for films and produce video content then this programme is for you. Learn about the full screen production process, from pre-production, to production, to post-production. Master a wide range of skills such a cinematography, sound capture, script writing, storyboarding, directing, producing, editing, sound design, colour grading, compositing and visual effects.

Working in production groups and individually you will write, direct and shoot a range of dynamic screen productions.
Then you will refine and polish your footage using cutting edge post-production techniques.

Prospective employers, cultivated your online portfolio and taken part in a screening of your work.
From here, you may choose to go on to further study in filmmaking or use your skills to apply for a job in the exciting worlds of film and television or post-production.

Introduction to After Effects

2 Days Introductory
After Effects is a powerful application used to create motion graphics and visual effects for film, video, broadcast graphics and music videos. This course will teach you how to create sophisticated motion graphics using text and object animation, compositing videos and images and adding audio effects. Cover basic animation of shapes and layers, working with keyframes, effects and layer options, 3D layers, cameras and rendering and colour grading and enhancing footage. The course will also teach you about track mattes and keying, motion tracking and stabilisation, time remapping, image sequences and playing with particles.

2 days Introductory
Pining to master Premiere Pro? Our 2 day short course will teach you how to capture footage, set up a timeline and gain an understanding of video formats, compression and importing audio. You’ll create transitions and export your finished edits to suit your desired delivery platform. You’ll need basic computer and file management skills, and be sure to bring a USB to save your work.

You can also subscribe to the Adobe Creative Cloud which gives you monthly access to the complete Creative Suite. Learning Outcomes: 1. Understand basic animation principals 2. Create a simple animation using puppet tools and motion paths 3. Create a simple title sequence using effects, blending modes and animation 4. Create a simple animation in 3D space 5. Learn at your own pace, with plenty of support through our online forums. You’ll need to have basic computer skills on a PC or MAC as well as access to Premiere Pro software. A free, one-month trial can be downloaded from the Adobe site. You can also subscribe to the Adobe Creative Cloud. This gives you monthly access to the complete Creative Suite. Learning Outcomes: 1. Create a basic edit using supplied footage 2. Create a basic advert with animated titles 3. Identify and correct errors in video footage 4. Use keyframes to create a basic animation 5.
