Unique opportunity for Yoobee students

This week the Web and UX Design classes at the Yoobee Christchurch campus had the privilege of attending a presentation made by Webtools Portfolio Health Manager, Harry Hawke, and Project Manager, Amanda Cockroft.

Webtools are based in Christchurch, Melbourne and London and create bespoke software solutions for the energy, transport and health sectors.

The students were excited to have a rare insight into one of the recent health-related web and mobile application projects Webtools have been collaborating on. Both Harry and Amanda led the presentation and guided the students through their UX Design processes. Of special interest to the students was how they dealt with challenges while working on prototypes with stakeholders and the steps taken to reach Minimum Viable Product.

Opportunities like this for Yoobee students to gain first-hand experience of workplace practices are invaluable for validating what Yoobee tutors teach in the level 6 Web and UX Design programme, plus help to ensure that our students are work-ready when they graduate.

Industry connections are everything in the creative industries, and the team at Yoobee are grateful for the team at Webtools’ time and hospitality.
