Compulsory Student Services Fee
What is CSSF?
CSSF, also referred to as the Student Services Levy, is a fee to help fund key services to assist student success and overall wellbeing while studying at Yoobee College of Creative Innovation.
How much is it?
In 2022, the compulsory for on-campus and blended delivery Student Services Fee is $340 (GST inclusive) per full-time student (120 credit programme), and $170 for Certificate programme (60 credits) students. This fee is the same price as it has been for students the past four years.
The Student Services Fee for Online (asynchronous) students commencing in 2022 is set at $170 (GST inclusive) for 120 credit students, and $85 for Certificate programme (60 credits) students.
Domestic students have this fee covered under fees-free, or can borrow the amount as part of their student loan.
Setting the 2022 CSSF
The CSSF is set in consultation with students. In 2021, the Student Representatives across our campuses (a body of nominated programme representatives) consulted regarding the services provided and the fee charged.
As a result of the consultation process, all colleges registered under the Yoobee College of Creative Innovation EDUMIS number (9324)* agreed the CSSF be set at $340 (GST inclusive) per student in 120 credit on-campus programmes, with a pro rata amount of $170 for Certificate on-campus students (60 credits) and half of these amounts for online asynchronous students in 2022.
Setting a different CSSF rate for different sites or delivery modes reflects the services students can access, for instance, on-campus and online students are offered different services.
The Compulsory Student Services Fee funds key services to assist student success and enhance the on campus experience offered at Yoobee College of Creative Innovation.
Setting the 2023 CSSF
Further consultation with students will be carried out this year to set the fee for 2022.
Student Representatives will be asked to feedback on the services currently provided and to determine the CSSF level for 2023 prior to the end of 2022.
Why is this important to me?
As part of the Ministry of Education’s direction, institutions are required to report on how fees are charged and spent. Institutions must involve students, or their representatives, when deciding on the following:
Maximum amount students pay
Types of services delivered
Procurement of these services
Method for authorising expenditure on these services.
