Yoobee’s Bachelor of Animation students at the Wellington Campus were treated to an inspiring morning with members of the Wētā FX ADT team, including their Senior Animation Supervisor, Sidney Kombo-Kintombo.
The session was packed with valuable insights into what it takes to succeed in the animation and visual effects industry, including how to prepare for the rigorous standards of a studio like Wētā FX. Sidney shared deep technical knowledge and offered observational advice to help students refine their own animated projects.
Students also received practical tips on building strong portfolios and presenting themselves professionally online, including clever strategies to stand out in a competitive field.
After the presentation, the Wētā FX team visited the labs to view student work in progress and offer personalised feedback. It was a rare and motivating opportunity for our aspiring animators.
