About

CJ Armstrong, professionally known as Casper James, am honoured to serve as a dedicated educator and practitioner in the field of animation at Yoobee College of Creative Innovation in Auckland, New Zealand. My educational background includes a dual degree, in Japanese Studies, and English and New Media, from Auckland University of Technology, earned in 2015, along with two diplomas in Animation from Yoobee Colleges and two teaching certificates.

In my role as a teacher, animator, illustrator, and character modeler, I am deeply passionate about the diverse and dynamic world of animation. My focus lies in fostering creative and impactful storytelling experiences that resonate across various cultures and backgrounds. Additionally, I am committed to supporting emerging talent both inside and outside the classroom through student success, whether through guiding students into the animation industry or co-running a comic club initiative aimed at nurturing creativity and self-expression among students.

I am humbled by the opportunities to contribute to the arts community, including organizing and curating school exhibitions and presenting research at international conferences. These experiences further fuel my dedication to advancing the field of animation through collaborative inquiry and innovation.

In essence, I strive to embody a blend of artistic excellence, pedagogical dedication, and scholarly curiosity within the animation community. It is my sincere hope that my contributions will inspire and support future generations of animators and storytellers.
