Nigel Grimshaw-Jones




Nigel Grimshaw-Jones leads the Design and Marketing team at Yoobee College of Creative Innovation. After studying Law at Auckland University in the 1980s, Nigel changed direction and began life as a designer and copywriter in the Auckland and Melbourne design scene. Travelling to London in 1995, he moved more into advertising, namely art direction and creative direction, eventually working for four years as a Creative Director. In this time, he worked with some of the biggest clients in the London Advertising scene, including Evian, Motorola, Tesco, Smirnoff and Jaguar.

Returning to New Zealand in 2010, Nigel founded Touch Marketing, fundamentally a digital agency and a personal pivot into Digital Design and Creative Direction. Nigel was the founder and Creative Director at Touch Marketing for ten years.

Nigel completed a Master of Communication Studies at Auckland University of Technology in 2016, researching branding and brand values, particularly how brand value strategies used by companies on social media effect great success. His thesis was in response to the huge resources that Touch Marketing found their clients were investing in, regarding this type of marketing, and the sheer relevance to the marketing industry in general.

In 2019 Nigel sold his majority share in Touch Marketing and subsequently moved into education securing a job at Yoobee College of Creative innovation in 2023. Touch Marketing trades today as Splash Digital Ltd.

Nigel also founded Touch-AKL in 2010, a company that continues to this day.
