Yoobee Creative and Tech Leaders Scholarship

 

The Yoobee Creative and Tech Leaders Scholarship provides financial assistance to support learners entering creative programmes aligned to design, animation, game development, digital content, and creative technology pathways.

Rationale

This scholarship exists to recognise and support learners with strong creative and technical potential, as well as those who may face barriers to accessing education in creative or technology fields. It may also support study in disciplines that are particularly important to the creative and tech industries, or that align with the goals of a donor or philanthropic partner.

At its core, the scholarship is designed to nurture talent, widen access to education, and support learners to progress into meaningful employment pathways across the creative and technology sectors.

Recipients of this scholarship will receive full tuition fee coverage for Year 1 of study in one of the following programmes:

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the Yoobee Creative and Tech Leaders scholarship applicants must:

  • Be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand residence class visa

  • If English is not the applicant’s first language, they must demonstrate English language proficiency with an IELTS score of 5.5 or above, with no band lower than 5.0.

  • Meet the academic and programme entry requirements for Year 1 of your chosen Bachelors programme

How do I apply?

To apply for the scholarship applicants must:

  • Ensure you meet the criteria above

  • Complete an online application form for Year 1 of your chosen qualification

  • Provide any supporting documents as requested i.e. ID, academic transcripts if relevant

  • Submit a short personal statement addressing:

    • Your interest in the programme

    • Your future aspirations in the field of Animation, Technology or Marketing

    • How receiving the scholarship will help remove financial barriers and support your goals

Academic Expectations

Scholarship recipients are expected to:

  • Meet the programmes attendance requirements

  • Pass all courses with a minimum grade of C or higher

  • Complete the programme within the standard duration of study - this may be either the part-time or full-time duration

  • Comply with Yoobee's Code of Conduct and academic integrity requirements

Additional Information

  • This scholarship covers tuition fees and the student service levy for Year 1.

  • Recipients are responsible for any course-related costs associated with their programme. For more information, refer to individual course pages or contact us directly.

  • If this is your first time studying at the tertiary level, you may also be eligible for TEC's Final Year Fees Free. Check your eligibility at Fees Free.

  • Limited number of scholarships available to eligible applicants

  • The scholarship cannot be:

    • Redeemed for cash or transferred to another individual

    • Transferred to another programme of study. If a student chooses to enrol in an alternative programme then full fees will apply.

This scholarship meets the TEC definition of a scholarship as it provides financial assistance either on a merit basis, a needs basis, and/or supports a clear philanthropic or targeted aim with a documented rationale and eligibility/assessment process.
