Minister of Education visits Yoobee students
Minister Chris Hipkins visits Yoobee students completing their Mentored Metaverse Internship at WIR Group in Indonesia as part of the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Programme.
Minister of Education, Chris Hipkins, led an overseas delegation to East Asia to promote New Zealand as an international education destination of choice. He was joined by Education New Zealand, university and school representatives.
Minister Hipkins and his delegates promoted New Zealand’s commitment to education cooperation with South Korea and Indonesia – meeting with local education stakeholders and international learners.
As part of the tour, he joined Yoobee College of Creative Innovation at WIR Group in the capital of Indonesia, Jakarta, where the students presented their learnings from their 12-week Metaverse Mentored Internship as part of the Prime Minister’s Scholarship Programme. Industry, education and government officials were also present.
The Bachelor of Animation and Software Engineering students impressively showcased how they have been making a tangible difference to the metaverse enterprise while expanding their vital skills in immersive technology in the East Asia market.
The students say the highlight of their metaverse internship was meeting Minister Hipkins and learning from leaders in Southeast Asian technology – who are forging innovation in Augmented Reality, Virtual Reality and Artificial Intelligence.
