Yoobee Tech Futures Scholarship

The Yoobee Tech Futures Scholarship provides financial assistance to support learners entering programmes aligned to technology, IT, cloud, cybersecurity, software development, and emerging digital capabilities.

Rationale

This scholarship supports a diverse range of learners who are interested in technology, recognising both strong academic achievement and emerging potential. It helps reduce barriers to accessing technology education and encourages study in areas that align with industry needs and future workforce priorities.

By building skills across technology and digital disciplines, the scholarship helps learners grow their confidence, capability, and connections—supporting their journey into meaningful and sustainable careers in the technology sector.

Programmes covered

Recipients of this scholarship will receive full tuition fee coverage for any of the following programmes:

• Introduction to Artificial Intelligence (Level 4)

• Certificate in Information Technology (Level 5)

• Diploma in Cloud Computing and Cybersecurity (Level 6)

• Diploma in Cloud Engineering (Level 7)

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the Yoobee Tech Futures scholarship applicants must:

• Be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand residence class visa

• Meet the academic and programme entry requirements of the selected programme

If English is not the applicant’s first language, they must demonstrate English language proficiency with an IELTS score of 5.5 or above, with no band lower than 5.0.

How do I apply?

To apply for the scholarship applicants must:

• Ensure you meet the criteria above

• Complete an online application for your selected programme

• Provide any supporting documents as requested i.e. ID, academic transcripts if relevant

• Submit a short personal statement addressing

  • Your interest in the programme

  • Your future aspirations in the IT field

  • How receiving the scholarship will help remove financial barriers and support your goals

Academic Expectations

Scholarship recipients are expected to:

• Meet the programmes attendance requirements

• Pass all courses with a minimum grade of C or higher

• Complete the programme within the standard duration of study - this may be either the part-time or full-time duration

• Comply with Yoobee's Code of Conduct and academic integrity requirements

Additional Information

• The scholarship covers 100% of tuition fees for the selected programme

• Students must have access to a computer with the required hardware specifications, a microphone, and a reliable internet connection (as outlined in marketing materials).

• Scholarships are limited and awarded to eligible applicants

• The scholarship cannot be:

  • Redeemed for cash or transferred to another individual

  • Transferred to another programme of study. If a student chooses to enrol in an alternative programme then full fees will apply.

This scholarship meets the TEC definition of a scholarship as it provides financial assistance either on a merit basis, a needs basis, and/or supports a clear philanthropic or targeted aim with a documented rationale and eligibility/assessment process.
